Research Areas: genetic epidemiology; integrative omics; single cell; functional genomics; COPD; ILD; IPF

I am a physician trained in pulmonary and critical care medicine, with a background in engineering / computer science and training in genetic epidemiology. My research aims to understand the role of genetic variation and other molecular omics in susceptibility and heterogeneity of chronic lung disease, with a focus on COPD and related phenotypes, and interstitial lung disease. I have led large genome-wide association studies (GWAS) for COPD and interstitial lung abnormalities, and have performed studies integrating transcriptomics and protein biomarkers with genetic variants.
