Matt B. Mahoney

Matt Mahoney has spent the past 2+ decades working in the life sciences sector. He carries a strong background in genetics, neurobiology, and drug discovery with him. Mr. Mahoney thrived in the biotechnology industry for 15 years before making his way back into academia at BWH. Over his pre-BWH career, he has developed genetic models of human disease, governed drug screening teams, and established business development relationships for multiple companies and CROs. He has also founded a life sciences consulting firm which has assisted numerous organizations with their operations/scientific strategy needs. In 2013, Mr. Mahoney ventured into the biorepository field and currently runs the tissue/mammography arm of the BWH/Harvard Cohorts Biorepository. More recently he has taken on a broader management role for the data collections group within the Nurses’ Health Study Operations Team.
